This Is the Next Wave of Young American Designers

When it comes to owning one’s own fashion brand, talent comes first, but keen business savvy ranks a very close second. The CFDA knows this all too well, and set up its Fashion Incubator program in 2009 to help teach young designers good business practices and set them up with a low-cost studio space. In the five years since, the initiative has hosted brands like Public School and Prabal Gurung. Today, Vogue.com is announcing the 10 labels that will be included in the CFDA’s fourth iteration of the Incubator, underwritten by Target, W Hotels, MAC Cosmetics, and Newmark Holdings. They are Alix, Brother Vellies, Charles Youssef, Ddugoff, Haerfest, Haus Alkire, Ji Oh, K/ller Collection, Thaddeus O’Neil, and Yestadt Millinery.
